The Shivers - Cold In The Morning

“Cold In The Morning” - The Shivers

It occurred to me today that I haven’t posted a Shivers jam in ages. I am so, so sorry. It won’t happen again.

(Also, this is a seriously fantastic blues-y, piano-y, harmonizing jam and if you don’t love it, you’re stupid.)

I don’t have time anymore to chase you around

Remember that one time that SpiritHoods used “Only In It For The $$$” for a kids’ campaign movie? That time was now.

I forgot how I was able to find this performance on youtube because they never appear under related searches, but I think it’s their best recorded one available online. But judging by the number of views, it still seems pretty obscure. This set is as intimate as it gets. It’s a perfect example of the chemistry both Keith Zarriello and Jo Schornikow share while performing. If you’ve ever seen them live, you can vouch for the intense passion that emanates from their music, their body language, and the long stares at one another while playing. This video starts with the last minute of Half Invisible, but then Keith, after pleaded by Jo, shares the story of how they met. And if you’re a hopeless romantic like me, or if you listen to, and can relate with, The Shivers as much as I do, then this video will definitely make your heart melt every time. At least 50 of these views have been me over the past year reminding myself how much I love these guys.

I keep thinking I’m seeing Keith Zarriello, from The Shivers, everywhere I go. Apparently I’m stalking him.

There are worse things you could do.

Don’t they look cute?

The Shivers are Keith Zarriello and Jo Schornikow.

They are better than that one band you like and are about a thousand times more talented than whatever band Pitchfork is shilling today.

What I'm trying to say is that you should listen to The Shivers.
